This painting is part of a larger body of work I produced for an opportunity with The Hoxton, a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of the streets and scenes that surround us. After spending some time in their downtown location in Los Angeles, I made paintings inspired by moments I found on location. Despite the “everydayness” of the subject-matter, small details illustrated subtle narratives beyond the objects portrayed; it was important for me to show in these paintings the “evidence of our being”.
About the Artist
Adrian Kay Wong explores interpersonal dynamics and the inherent narrative elements of everyday iconography within his hard-edged representational paintings.
