I’ve been, especially recently, interested in that ambiguity of understanding -- things like homophones, words that sound the same but are spelled different and have different meanings, homographs, same spelling words that can have two meanings, idioms, phrases that have meanings not deducible from the individual words, things like that. Conceptually, I find this notion especially poignant; there is often beauty in pain, pain in beauty. Simple pursuits are often the most difficult, and difficult tasks sometimes only need the simplest response. More often than not, between these two opposing forces is usually an impossibly convoluted mixture of the two. Nonetheless, I find that the nuanced interaction in between, the indeterminable gray area, is where truth and authenticity lies.
