Creating studies is a way to make a loose pencil sketch a touch more tangible. These studies allow me to really see a piece before the lengthy construction and fabrication process. Normally my studies are black and white, and done in gouache or colored pencil, but adding texture and color to them really helped me envision this body of work and bring it to life.
