In past bodies of work, I’ve explored dimensional wall works and I wanted to continue mining that vein while pushing myself to evolve. I thought a lot about how to further develop this formal language of interlocking shapes. Tension, balance, order, movement, repetition, spontaneity, and playfulness were top of mind as I began the process of filling a sketchbook with tons of individual and groups of forms. I sat with the output for a few months before whittling down this series to the best twelve.
