Governor’s Island is a series of collages based on my residency on the island in the heart of New York Harbor. The shapes relate to the silhouettes of sculptures I was working on at the time, and were inspired by the shapes of ships and vessels observed on my commute to and from the island.
About the Artist
Fitzhugh Karol is a sculptor, working in a range of materials, who is influenced by music, childhood, minimalism, as well as real and fabricated archaeological records.
