Aliza'a works draw inspiration from a residency in Wyoming, where she spent time observing the qualities of the colors around her, from rusts in the mountains to the greens and purples of the creek, as well as the shapes of the local vegetation and contours of the hills.

Showing bits of my process through painting is something I've always loved to do. Iâm not interested in creating an image that already exists - I want to show the viewer my way of looking, my hand in the picture, the imperfect way that humans make and decide and explore. I want to give them clues as to what I was thinking and maybe why.
