These drawings reflect my interest in knitting patterns, particularly the symbolic instructional charts (for sweaters, cardigans etc) for the torso and sleeve parts of the pattern. The shapes of the grids strike me as vessel-like, like a coded sketch for an ancient vase. The drawings are a way to write structure through coded language. The tension of the indeterminate meanings / relationships between the shapes and symbols is the story.
