This new suite of pulp paintings was begun during quarantine in Vermont. We collected apple branches, dowels, scrap wood, and miscellaneous hardware from around the orchard and farm where we were staying. We cut the found material to make wood blocks for pressing shapes into the raw pulp: circles, rectangles, lines, etc. The shapes are further refined as we press and dab our fingers on the wet pulp. When dry, the raw pulp is painted with acrylic paints. The compositions and colors are guided by some of our inspirations, including nature, minimalism, play, and light.
