The title "Vegas" refers to a sense of fun and exuberance in this work. Unlike other pieces in this series which are layered veils of color, this piece was done with a lush use of wet-on-wet oil paint - the brushwork dancing furiously across the canvas.

John Platt is an abstract painter with a focus on color relationships through minimal paintings featuring vertical bands of pigment.
