The work is never a direct representation of one thing. It could be a vague recalling to a comfortable corner in a home, an old tablecloth, or a favorite antique vase. The more I make, the more I see the various plates, fruits, and colors as something nostalgic. They’re all about a sense of home, a safe, celebratory place where you can have whatever you want.
