The 'Subtractions' series are created by taking dimensional pieces of wood and passing them through a bandsaw a number of times, creating curves and step shapes with each cut. Then I reassemble them with their square faces on the inside. They're simple... and yet always surprise me.
About the Artist
Fitzhugh Karol is a sculptor, working in a range of materials, who is influenced by music, childhood, minimalism, as well as real and fabricated archaeological records.
