These paintings describe a sense of gratitude and celebration and were conjured from a memory of sitting with a lifelong friend in the California sun. The angles of the umbrella that offered shade above us, the reflective water and cloudless sky, and the warm, languid feelings I could feel in my chest - wholeness, love, history, trust, and presence - are all depicted here.
