My work represents an exploration of nature through the intersection of class, modernity, and taste. There is a capacity for imitation and distinction; a juxtaposition of the artificial and the natural. 'Solarium' is a contained environment that comments on the human desire to possess and control nature - contradicting its ephemeral lifecycle.
About the Artist
Kate Clements explores the precarity of our environment through kiln-fused glass, a medium that captures the simultaneous vulnerability and seduction of the natural world.
