The square boundary has influenced my ritualistic procedure of initiating each piece by ruling a two-dimensional grid upon the surface in order to help define the fabric of the space and provide a literal and metaphorical net - catching and recording the steps to follow. Here, in "Sapphirine Window", a pink colored pencil was used to draft the initial grid which shines through the rest of the colors and remains evident in the final image.
