I started doing paintings on paper at this scale on my trip to Sonoma as part of my Uprise Art x MacArthur Place residency. It was a way to create a visual journal and document my trip. Once I returned to the studio, I continued the practice and they eventually grew to over 200 individual works. The more I had, the easier it was to keep going - they became a self-generating form of inspiration. The series as a whole functions both as individual moments as much as connected stories.
