Upon my return from a five-week Italy residency and tour culminating in my first solo exhibition overseas, I found a need to get back to basics. Some comfort food for my brain. These works find me coming full circle back to working with natural raw canvas after a multi-year exploration of paintings utilizing dyed canvas. They are a time marker, looking back to works I've made on raw canvas over the past seven years while simultaneously using new techniques and ideas that push me forward into the possibility of the future.
