This piece is all about the interplay of movement and stillness. The vertical bands of color are a hallmark in my work, but I am always intrigued by finding new concepts within that idiom. The use of layered colors gives the piece a sense of flux and dance, and the palette is an ode to my love of Diaghilev, the Ballets Russes, and the great dancer Nijinsky.
