This artist book is a treatise on "New Color in the Times of Slow Coffee", a collaboration with artists Michelle Maguire and Kelsey McClellan that began during the pandemic lockdown. Michelle and Kelsey created photographs inspired by Kristin's paintings, and Kristin then created paintings inspired by Michelle and Kelsey's photographs. The end result fostered connection between the artists during a time of distance and isolation while also prompting a new way of composing artwork and creative problem-solving.

Materials Foil-stamped cover, digitally printed interior with unique, original elements (prop material collages, oil paint studies, colored pencil sketches, and object photographs) by the artists.

The book is an accordion structure containing 3 pamphlet books â itâs like a house with 3 separate rooms that all wanna be under one roof: 1) 10 photos aiming to capture the essence of Kristinâs paintings, paired alongside Kristinâs painted responses to them; 2) 5 paintings Kristin later made for us to interpret as photos; and 3) some context about why.
