This series of monoprints is a continuation of my current painting work, but through a new medium. The same elements are at hand, but exercised within the parameters of paper and ink, opposed to oil paint and joint compound. My work ruminates on color, written in the language of reiterated line and shape. Many of them are inspired by shape and color relationships in the urban landscape directly around me, from the green iron of a bridge, to the corrugated side of a graffitied warehouse.
About the Artist
Artist Arielle Zamora creates optical abstractions by carving into, and painting on, panels prepared with joint compound.
