My process includes studying the work and lives of mentors, many of whom I’ve never met in person. During the months between the residency at MacArthur Place and the completion of the 'Saturation' series, I looked to artists Michele Oka Doner and Anne Truitt, poet Ada Limón, writer Elizabeth Gilbert, and Buddhist nun Pema Chodron for connection and guidance. My friend in Sonoma - as well as all of my closest friends - are also mentors, and is my partner, my daughter, my son, my sister, my brother, my mother, my stepfather, my grandmother, and my uncle.
