This set of paintings is a reflection of my move to Copenhagen, Denmark, where a fresh life with a new routine, friends, food, style, and home took place. With so much newness, I started absorbing some of this city's characteristics as I walked around and carefully looked at everything the city and its people had to show. Through these observations, I learned a few things. One of them was the importance that many people here give to all the details and objects that are a part of their lives. They place and treat them with care. They don't appreciate excess. These concepts of organization, functionality, cleanliness, and care resonate with me and are reflected within this series.
