During the pandemic, being outside was our escape from life in quarantine within our homes. In our collective appreciation of being outdoors, we shared how beautiful nature could be with one another. These etchings were inspired by a 18th century drawing manual created by Alexander Cozens, who took a spontaneous approach to capturing nature through improvisation and careful understanding of form. In particular, I was drawn to his section of prints describing how to draw clouds.
