This series is all about taking the next step. My past few shows have been comprised of simple stripe paintings that contained a color field on one dimension, but with this series I wanted to do some layering of color to create a more multi-dimensional effect. 'City Streets' is an important transitional work, because from the previous paintings, I began to think about the colors of the stripes fading into one another, referencing modern masters like Kandinsky and Picabia, and taking this series in a further direction.
