Although it may appear as though the colors in my work are pulled using gravity, this movement is in truth caused by the sequence of saturation. As I brush and dissolve my wax pastel drawing and make my way throughout the piece, marks of color are pulled towards where I once began saturating the canvas. This way, the final image is directly influenced by a unique relationship between materiality, scale, and time.
